Roots & Wings
Mary is the Director of Roots and Wings, a multi-faceted, arts based, emotional literacy project based within Chickenley Community Primary School in West Yorkshire. The project received external funding from Children's Fund Kirklees for 5 years to employ artists to work with the children to promote health and well-being and personal development.
Roots and Wings has been recognised nationally and used as a model of good practice for several other projects. NHS Kirklees has committed funding for a further two years in recognition of the benefits the project brings to the school, its young people and the local community.
